teamLab :: Borderless

Set to open June 21 in Tokyo's Odaiba district is the Mori Building Digital Art Museum, a collaboration between digital art collective teamLab and real estate company Mori Building. The 10,000 square meter space will be filled with about 50 artworks controlled by 520 computers and 470 projectors to create a new world, the likes of which have never been seen before. For the past few years, teamLab has staged digital installations in Japan and abroad that are as colorful as they are interactive, with people lining up for hours to immerse themselves in the digital projections. Included in the exhibition entitled Borderless is this untitled digital waterfall. teamLab states:
"People understand and recognize the world through their bodies, moving freely and forming connections and relationships with others. As a consequence, the body has its own sense of time. In the mind, the boundaries between different thoughts are ambiguous, causing them to influence and sometimes intermingle with each other. teamLab Borderless is a group of artworks that form one borderless world. Artworks move out of the rooms freely, form connections and relationships with people, communicate with other works, influence and sometimes intermingle with each other, and have the same concept of time as the human body. People lose themselves in the artwork world. The borderless works transform according to the presence of people, and as we immerse and meld ourselves into this unified world, we explore a continuity among people, as well as a new relationship that transcends the boundaries between people and the world."

Cartolina da Barcellona 2 :: teamLab

I'm really not sure what to say. This is one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life.

 What happens at a certain moment will not happen again in the same way. This is the conceptual basis of the interactive and immersive artistic proposal of the international artistic collective teamLab, which presents this exhibition of infinite possibilities at CaixaForum. The multidisciplinary team teamLab has created two large-scale artistic installations that unite art and technology, and from that union emerge worlds full of nature that change when the visitor passes by or interacts with them. The exhibition, which occupies the entire Room 4 of CaixaForum Barcelona, consists of the works Born From the Darkness to Loving, and Beautiful World and Graffiti Nature: Lost, Immersed and Reborn. All of them exalt nature and invite the sustainability of the planet.

Floating Flower Garden

An installation at the Miraikan National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovationconsisting of 2,300 suspended flowers that rise upwards when a viewer moves closer to them, creating a constantly evolving hemispherical space with the viewer at its center. If many people move closer together, the spaces link up to form one massive, single dome.
