Quando ci si ostina ad avere un destino si finisce sempre con il prendere ordini da qualcuno. Viceversa, per vivere in armonia con l'universo, bisognerebbe convincersi che non esiste un mandante delle nostre disgrazie nè un artefice della propria felicità. Avremmo così sostituito il Dio minaccioso di Abramo con un Buddha sdraiato, a cui bastano il silenzio e un sorriso per ammutolire le intimidazioni dall'alto.
