Christian Riekoff – Ephemeron

In nature, organisms are in permanent transitions. Ephemeron is a visual manifestation of this constant change. It is a GPU based audiovisual generative system with 1 million triangles whose motion behaviors and physical properties evolve over time. The result is a world of metamorphosis whose appearance is ephemeral yet memorable.

HYBE ~ IRIS

Created by Korean collective HYBE, IRIS is a media canvas with matrix of conventional information display technology, that is a monochrome LCD.Through the phased opening and closing of circular black liquid crystal, IRIS can create various patterns and control the amount (size) of passing lights.

IRIS is an interactive medium for visual simplicity which uses the passage of ambient light, not emission of light itself. The installation below consists of 400 LCDs (20×20), 20 Custom-designed Arduino compatible controllers and Processing and Kinect used for both autoactive & interactive content play.

Maruyama has created liquid sculptures by repeatedly throwing tempera paint into the air and then photographing and combining the frozen moments for beautifully balanced, otherworldly and physically powerful images.

SHORT FILM ~ Adelaide

Adelaide is titled after its main character, an attractive well-to-do young woman afflicted with Münchausen syndrome, a disorder characterized by the feigning of illness to attract sympathy. Adelaide’s is an especially dark variety of the syndrome, as she frequently will put herself into dangerous positions in order to get closer to her (married) physician. After her latest self-inflicted episode she is firmly rebuffed by the doctor, and in her depressed aftermath we come to see the depth of her isolation and loneliness. Heeding her doctor’s advice to “find someone her own age”, she begins to court a shy pharmacist hoping to find the companionship and understanding that has been missing in her life.

In materia di educazione, ogni imperativo è un'intrusione, un tentativo di prevaricare l'identità altrui.  Ancora oggi mi chiedo se l'adagio " sii sempre te stesso " vada visto come un monito, una minaccia, o un consiglio da seguire. Poi che senso ha estenderlo a chiunque, dai fobici ai depressi, dagli squilibrati agli assassini? 
Se considero che l'umanità esplora ambiguità sempre crescenti e che la dissociazione mentale è all'ordine del giorno, un ordinario"  lìmitati a essere uno solo " avrebbe fatto di me un Budda illuminato.
