29 year-old German photographer Karolin KlΓΌppel recently visited a small Khasi village in India, and was particularly interested in matriarchal or matrilineal societies, and any society where the gender relation is different from what we know. MΓ€dchenland is a series about the girls of a village called Mawlynnong, in the Indian state of Meghalaya.
